SRC of Lexington announces expansion and renovation plans, plus the addition of up to 50 new jobs, as a result of rapid growth since opening in 2009.

500 Euclid Avenue has seen various pubs over the decades. Its latest quietly opened for business about a month ago and is on its way to becoming a campus neighborhood destination.

Beginning as a horse livery, 238 East Main Street has seen several different tenants in its almost 150 years. Since early 2013 it has had success offering a “shared workplace in downtown Lexington, aimed at sharpening the creative and business mind through common workspace, community and events.”

An extensive renovation of the Lexington Friends (Quakers) Meetinghouse is complete, making it eligible to be listed as the first US Green Building Council LEED-certified house of worship in Kentucky.

Stonewall Center, a mix of retail and offices at the corner of Clays Mill Road and Wellington Way, has filled a significant amount of square footage with new tenants. Bargain Hunt is now open in the anchor storefront, previously empty for over a year. The former Stanley J’s and Rosalia’s will soon house the second location of North Lime Coffee & Donuts.

The impending move of the main driver’s license office has been announced, from within a city government building also housing the County Clerk’s offices in downtown Lexington, to a shopping center just outside of New Circle Road along Winchester Road. It will be adjacent to Spencerian College and offer increased parking options as well as access via four different Lextran routes. Fayette County’s other driver’s license office will remain on Regency Road.

Crank & Boom, the ice creamery associated with local Thai & Mighty Noodle Bowls food truck and restaurant, has announced the opening of a permanent café and lounge space in the burgeoning Distillery District facing Manchester Street and adjacent to the Town Branch of Elkhorn Creek.
